Internet Marketing Tip # 1

Internet Marketing TIps Keyword Research

The best internet marketing tip I can give you is to KNOW YOUR KEYWORD RESEARCH! No matter what type of internet marketing you’re doing, whether it’s SEO (search engine optimized) websites, PPC, or article marketing, you must understand keyword research for all of these. (Wealthy Affiliate has a kick butt keyword tool. See my blog post on Wealthy Affiliate’s keyword Research Tool.)

That was the biggest mistake I made when I started internet marketing 3 years ago. Or has it been 4? Ah, time flies when you’re having fun. And as frustrated and lost as I have been, I have always found this to be fun. (A second internet marketing tip – find the type of internet marketing that you like and stick to it because it’s lots of work and anyone who says it’s easy, is lying to get you to buy something from them.)

When I first started in internet marketing I went with SiteBuild It (SBI) and started setting up a SEO website that would rank high in the search engines. Well, after a year of working on it weekly, sometimes daily, I was nowhere near the top in page ranking. I moved on to try other things thinking that it was a scam. But I did keep my website up because I got lots of emails thanking me for the great information on self help art healing stuff.

I realized later that I didn’t understand keyword research like I thought I did. And when I took a look at my website I just had to cringe at my keywords. By then I really understood keyword research enough to know that they were horrible keywords! It’s no wonder that my site never ranked well. It starting to rank a bit better now as I slowly replace the crappy keywords with good ones.

If you’re interested in building SEO websites I recommend SBI, as they will take you by the hand and walk you through the whole process of building not just a website, but a business. Plus they give you all the tools you need. I’m glad I started there, I just wish I had asked someone on the forums to help me. (But no, I just assumed I knew what i was doing.)

But the point is, I learned a very valuable lesson. In fact, it would be a commandment if Internet Marketing had its own commandments. It would be “Know Thy Keyword Research”.  And I am passing this very important internet marketing tip on to you. In fact I would say this is THE most important internet marketing tip of them all.

And if you’d like to run some of your top keywords by me, feel free to contact me. I’ll let you know if you’re keywords are good or if you’re lost like I was. Please only send 3. (I promise I won’t use your keywords, even if they’re killer keywords.)

Wealthy Affiliate Testimonials: My Two Cents – Part 2

This is part two of Wealthy Affiliate Testimonials MyTwo Cents. If you haven’t read the first part please do so before reading this. In part one I talked about why I love Wealthy Affiliate’s Keyword Research Tool. In this part I’ll talk about why I also love the Rapid Writer Tool and how its closely linked with the keyword research tool, and actually makes your keyword research much more in depth and quickly.

Wealthy Affiliate’s Rapid Writer is designed to do many things. This first thing its designed to do is help you write articles while checking your keyword density (you know how you’re supposed to have 1 – 2 % of your main keyword sprinkled throughout the article). This tool makes it so easy for you, the density checker is right there on the page keeping track for you. See in the image that my word count is 141 and my keyword is used only once so far (I’m just starting the article) which gives me a keyword density of 0.7%. How easy is that!!!

Wealthy Affiliate's keyword density tool

Take this blog post for example, my keyword is “Wealthy Affiliate Testimonials” and its supposed to be used in this article at a 1-2% density so the search engines will know what this article is about. (If you’re new to Internet Marketing, don’t let this lingo scare you off. It’s not rocket science or physics.) Wealthy Affiliate makes all that stuff really easy.

Before I joined Wealthy Affiliate I was  guestimating the number of words when writing, and i’d end up with an article that was about 800 words long, with too few keywords. I was manually counting my keywords, finding out my word count online, and then doing some math to figure out the keyword density. And I’m really bad at math. Now I don’t have to worry about that stuff, it’s all done for me with WA’s Rapid Writer. It’s worth its weight in gold (and this is just a tiny, tiny portion of what WA gives its members!)

The second thing that Wealthy Affiliate’s Rapid Writer is designed to do is spin your article into a bunch of other articles so you can submit multiples articles to directors, each different from each other. I don’t use that much right now, but I probably will in the future.

But the other thing I want to talk about is the keyword research tools WITHIN Rapid Writer. This is different from the Keyword Research Tool I talked about earlier. Once you have your keyword and you create an article box to begin writing, you will have access to another research tool bar. In the image below, you can see that I have “Wealthy Affiliate” as my keyword as an example. Again, it give me the “Quoted Results” for Google, Yahoo, and Live. It also give me the “Broad Results” but nobody pays attention to those. And at the far right under Power Score” it tells me whether I should start writing or whether this keyword is going to be tough. So every time I write an article with a keyword, say for instance  ” wealthy affiliate testimonials ” it will let me know if I should really bother.

Then below those figures, it also give me (AND THIS ROCKS!) a list of the top article submission sites and how many articles are on each of those sites using that keyword. So for “wealthy affiliate” there are 4 ads  on freeads.com using that keyword, and nothing on any of the other big article sites!!! That means you should jump on those sites and write some articles using that keyword cuz its wide open!!!! Did I say I love Wealthy Affiliate lately? And Carson, ooh la la!!!

Wealthy Affiliate Testimonials: My Two Cents

I’m adding my own testimonial about the WA keyword research tools to the thousands of other wealthy affiliate testimonials because I loooove WA. I’ve been with them for about 6 months now and I’m going to share with you my favorite thing about Wealthy Affiliate – among my other favorite things, like the fact that Carson (one of the owners of WA) is so dang cute!! Ahhh, if only I were younger. And I also love the forums (where there are boat loads of member wealthy affiliate testimonials) – where I can always get help with anything I’m confused about. But I digress…

If you know anything about keyword research then you know it can be a total time consuming pain in the rear! And that’s my favorite thing about WA – their keyword research tool and article writing tool. I know that sounds like two different things but their very closely linked in WA. I’ve got a couple of screen shots here to show you what i’m talking about.

The first one is keyword research tool. Before i started using WA I would look up keywords using Google’s keyword tool, download them to a file, keep google keyword tool open and type the search results from Google keyword tools (cuz it doesn’t download them with the text!),  and then individually plug each one keyword into google (putting quotes around each one  every time) to get the number of competing sites for that keyword. Talk about a total time hog.

But in Wealthy Affiliate, I just open up the Keyword Research Tool, plug in the key word I’m interested in and in seconds it pulls up a list of relevant keywords. It gives me a list of all the keywords related to the main one, the global search for the previous month, the average number of searches per month, the estimates traffic you could expect for each keyword, and the number of quoted websites (you click on this column and it will take you to Google’s results). It also pulls up the Compeition for adsense (which I don’t use so can’t really say much about it), article power (which is awesome if you’re doing article marketing),  and Pay Per Click, Spy and Dig (I don’t use any of those so i can’t say much about them either).

Now my keyword research takes minutes instead of and hour or two. and my fingers and hands get a break from all that extras typing. My wealthy affiliate testimonials continues in the next blog where I finish up telling you about the article writing tool and how its totally linked to keyword research and is amazingly helpful.

If you just can’t afford the monthly fee associated with WA there is another awesome keyword research tool called Micro Niche Finder which is a software program you pay for once, and download to your computer (PCs only) that is a kick-butt research tool. I’ll write a review of that in a bit but basically it finds very niche markets for you to go after, where there’s lots of demand but very little competition. Its an amazing program.
